- Diagnostic Assessment:
o Students will fill in the review of grade 11 terms – in doing so, teachers will be able to determine the amount of material that needs to be reviewed/retaught in order to progress.
o Students can complete a KWL chart to be handed in to the teacher, reviewed, and handed back to be updated periodically throughout the unit
- Formative Assessment:
o Students can complete quizzes by ordering images of plasmid construction and vector transmission
o Reviewing results of the Murder Mystery Game
o Periodically checking the upkeep of student binders and glossaries
o Ask two different students at the end of every class to give a brief review of taught topics for the day in the last 5-10min of class
o Analyze the quality of questions asked in class and to the guest speaker
o Begin each class with a review question from the previous class

o Communication, thinking, and application can all be tested by grading the Career Fair assignment and the subsequent written journal response
